As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental fire protection engineering, we are proud to announce the successful renewal of our High-Expansion Foam Generator Performance Tests.

Conducted at the internationally recognized CNPP (Centre National de Prévention et de Protection) laboratories, these validate the transition of our high-expansion generators from traditional PFAS-based formulations to the latest generation of Fluorine-Free Foam (FFF) concentrates.

The Transition to Fluorine-Free Performance

Transitioning to fluorine-free alternatives requires precise calibration. Because FFF formulations exhibit different visco-elastic properties compared to legacy foams, ensuring optimal aspiration, bubble stability, and expansion dynamics is critical.

Our evaluation focused on two industry-leading, 3% synthetic fluorine-free foam concentrates:

  • BIOEX ECOPOL FFF 3% – A pioneering multi-class alcohol-resistant FFF known for its robust firefighting capabilities. →DOWNLOAD HERE←
  • PROFOAM PROFREE FFF 3% – A high-performance, Newtonian-behaving FFF engineered for rapid extinguishment and excellent fluid dynamics. →DOWNLOAD HERE←

To ensure true operational resilience, the systems were subjected to live fire tests using both hydrocarbon and polar solvent risks, specifically utilizing Heptane and Acetone as the liquid fuel sources.

Technical Benchmarks & Key Performance Metrics

The evaluation at CNPP strictly analyzed the physical mechanics of the generated foam blanket under the thermal stress of live Heptane and Acetone fires, focusing on three critical parameters:

1. Expansion Ratio (1:X)

The expansion ratio is a direct indicator of our generator’s ability to maximize water-foam solution volume for total-flooding applications. Testing confirmed an optimal high-expansion yield across both concentrates. This ensures rapid volumetric filling of large hazards, effectively suffocating both hydrocarbon (Heptane) and polar solvent (Acetone) fires by starving them of oxygen.

2. 25% Drainage Time (Quarter-Life)

The 25% drainage time measures foam stability and water retention capacity. Polar solvents like Acetone are notoriously destructive to foam blankets because they actively extract water from the foam matrix. The CNPP trials demonstrated that both ECOPOL FFF and PROFREE FFF, when processed through our renewed generators, maintain a highly stable matrix. The prolonged drainage times guarantee a long-lasting vapor barrier, suppressing hazardous emissions and preventing reignition even on aggressive water-soluble liquids.

3. Destruction Factor

When high-expansion foam is discharged onto a blazing liquid, it encounters intense thermal updrafts and destructive chemical vapors. The destruction factor quantifies this volume loss. Our renewed performance tests proved that the generated FFF foam possesses exceptional structural resilience against both Heptane and Acetone fires, maintaining a low destruction factor under severe fire stress conditions to ensure dependable containment.
